The Polycom VSX model can be expanded to support optional input devices. All components are color coded.

 

 

 

VCR/DVD Player Connections:
Audio-out - locate this symbol that is next to the associated receptacles on the back of the VCR/DVD player to send audio signals.
Right audio - Insert the red plug into the receptacle with a red color or labeled "audio out".
Left audio - Insert the white plug into the receptacle with a white color or labeled "audio out".
Video-out - locate this symbol that is located next to the associated receptacles on the back of the VCR/DVD player to send vidio signals.
Composite video - Insert the yellow RCA plug into the receptacle with a yellow color.
 
Polycom VSX connections for VCR/DVD Player:
Audio-in - locate this symbol that is next to the associated receptacles on the back of the Polycom VSX unit to receive audio signals. They are located on the top row of jacks.
Right audio - Insert the red plug into the receptacle with a red color or labeled "audio in".
Left audio - Insert the white plug into the receptacle with a white color or labeled "audio in".
Video-in - locate this symbol that is next to the associated receptacle on the back of the Polycom VSX unit to input video signals. It is located on the top row of jacks.
Composite video - Insert the yellow RCA plug into the receptacle with a yellow color or labeled "video in". (see note above) Do not plug in the yellow RCA composite video cable if the S-video cable can be used.
 
Polycom VSX connections for Elmo or 2nd Video Camera:

Video-in - Insert the yellow S-video plug into the receptacle with an 2nd camera symbol.

   
Polycom VSX connections for PC or 3rd  Video Camera:
Video-in - plug the VGA into the receptacle with a data (0101) symbol.
Video-in - Insert the yellow S-video plug into the receptacle with a data (0101) symbol.
   
Microphone/Visual Concert II connection:

Microphone - A second microphone can be daisy-chained to the first microphone if a large area needs to be covered. The Visual Concert II (people+content) unit is connected into this chain as either the first, second or third unit of the chain. This allows the Visual Concert  to be positioned for easy PC connectivity by the participants. Visual Concert connectivity is described in another document.

   
Optional Input Hardware Installation is complete:

After any or all the above connections have been made the Polycom VSX unit can be turned on with the rocker switch labeled with 0 (off) and 1 (on).
